Comic-Con 2026 Panels

Your guide to guaranteed seats—understanding the popular panels and how to improve your odds!

Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con is home to big announcements, celebrity panels, and some of the most anticipated moments of the convention. Think Marvel, DC, Star Wars, and blockbuster movies.

With its massive popularity, SDCC uses a wristband system to fairly manage overnight lines and early arrivals. If you're planning to attend a Hall H panel, here's what you need to know:

  • 1. Attendees line up outside along the marina, often as early as the morning of the day before the convention.

  • 2. Wristbands are distributed by volunteers along the Hall H line. Each wristband is color-coded (Groups A, B, C, D), corresponding to sections of seating inside. Group A gets the front-most seats. If wristbands run out, it means Hall H is at capacity for the start of the day.

  • 3. Once you have received your wristband, you are allowed to leave the line and return early in the morning, usually before 7:30 AM. You must return by this designated time (posted on signage and often announced during distribution) or you forfeit your place. When you return, you line up again in your wristband group section.

Tips for a Smooth Hall H Experience:

  • Bring Supplies: Snacks, water, and something to sit or sleep on (collapsible stools, camping mats, blankets).

  • Buddy System: You can hold spots for up to five people before wristbands are distributed, but all members must be present to receive them.

  • Stay Informed: Check SDCC's official blog, social media, and fan forums for updates on line movement and policy changes.

  • Respect the rules: Line-cutting is frowned upon and enforced.

  • Be Friendly: Talk to those around you, time goes faster with line buddies!

  • Be Respectful: The line is run by volunteers and security who are there to help. Courtesy goes a long way!

Ballroom 20 is SDCC's second-largest panel room, hosting shows like Star Trek, The Walking Dead, and The Simpsons. It's still competitive, but less intense than Hall H.

How it Works:

Unlike Hall H, you cannot line up overnight, security clears the area. The line forms each morning outside the Sails Pavilion (Hall C/D area). Arrive early (5:00 - 7:00 AM) if you want a decent seat.

Panels do not clear out between sessions , so many attendees stay all day.

If you're aiming for an afternoon panel, you may still get in by mid-morning but it depends whether earlier panels are big draws.

Familiarize yourself with the convention layout to maximize your time.

Additional Resources:

  • Official SDCC Map: Available on the Comic-Con website and app.
  • Mobile App: Offers real-time updates, panel schedules, and exhibitor locations.
  • Print Copies: Pick up a physical map at the convention center upon arrival.

Big lines are expected for an event with over 130,000 attendees! Early arrival is key for popular panels and exclusives.

Exhibit Hall Hours:

  • Thursday to Saturday: 9:30 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Doors to the Convention Center typically open around 6:30 AM, though some areas may open earlier for line wristbanding or ADA services.

Note: ADA line accommodations are available – check with the info booth ahead of time.

In recent years, SDCC has experimented with lotteries for select high-demand panels, particularly in large rooms like Hall H or the Indigo Ballroom. If selected, you'll receive guaranteed seating, allowing you to skip the long lines! As this is a newer process, details and availability vary each year.

Keep an eye on the official SDCC blog and emails – panel lotteries aren't always announced far in advance. The lottery system may feel like a gamble, but it's one of the most organized ways SDCC helps manage its biggest attractions. Get your entries in on time, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
