The basics
At its core, an exclusive is a limited-edition item only available at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC). Think action figures, enamel pins, comic variants, art prints, and more — many created just for the event.
These items can be:
True Exclusives – Only available at SDCC and never sold again.
Pre-Releases (aka Debuts) – You can get them first at SDCC, but they’ll be widely available later.
Variant Editions – Alternate colors, packaging, or designs sold only at the con.
Tip: If you are on the hunt for true exclusives, the company will advertise a limited number of items available (e.g. 1 of 300). They will also generally be labelled as “Limited Edition”.
The SDCC community loves to debate what counts as a “real” exclusive. Is it still exclusive if it shows up online a week later? What if it’s just an early ship date or different packaging? Some fans only consider items that never reappear elsewhere to be “true” exclusives — others are just happy to get early access.
At the end of the day, it’s about the experience. Whether you’re in line at the Loungefly Booth or winning a drop online, the thrill is real.
Due to high demand (and limited booth space), many exclusives now require winning access through Comic-Con’s Online Exclusives Portal.
Here’s how it works:
CCI opens a lottery under your Member ID account.
Once logged in, you will see the options for each day and the number of lottery entries you have available. Double-check which days you have a badge, as it must correspond to the date of the exclusive you are interested in.
- Select the exclusives you want to enter for (Exhibitor Booth Access, Signings, etc.). You must also choose a time window and the number of entries you would like to use.
- Important: Once you submit all your choices, you will not be able to edit your entries. Double-check your selections before submitting!
An email notification will be sent out when the random selection process is complete. This may take place at least 48 – 72 hours after the portal closes on July 18. At that time, log back in to the Exclusives Portal to see if you were selected to participate!
The 2025 Lottery is online now! It is open from July 7 at noon to July 17 at midnight (Pacific Daylight Time).
No lottery win? Don’t worry — some exclusives are still available first-come, first-served on the Exhibitor Floor or via company websites after SDCC wraps.
